Title:
9-1-1 Telecommunicator
Location:

Description:
Answer incoming emergency and routine assistance calls
- Independently assess the need and urgency of requests and situations
- Dispatch emergency response personnel including law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency medical professionals
- Receive and accurately relay information, messages and requests for the communications center
- Perform Emergency Medical Dispatch
- Enter data into WESCOM and State computer databases
- Operate radio and telecommunication systems including computer aided dispatching equipment (CAD), telephone device for the deaf (TDD/TTY), fax machines, and telephones
- Maintain knowledge of current communication policies and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of local, state and national dispatch standards
- Participate in on-going training
- Answer telephone requests for information
- Perform emergency warning notifications
- Perform clerical and general office functions
- Provide court testimony as required
- Monitor bank, business, and residential alarms
- Operate LEADS system
All training requirements are performed during work hours and are paid for by WESCOM.
Salary & Benefits
*Benefits and salary are subjected to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement which expires April 30, 2025.
Salary:
From trainee level of $46,601 to top-out at $78,056 + opportunity for overtime pay

Hours of Work:
Rotation of 8 to 10 hour shifts with a maximum of 12 hours with overtime.
Paid Holidays:
11 days with overtime and double-time pay for holidays worked
Vacation Hours:
Between 80 hours and 200 hours based on years of service at WESCOM
Other Paid-Time-Off:
Perfect attendance days, two personal days each year, comp time available, 96 sick hours earned each year up to 960 hours accrual.
