Under 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(a):
- Information specifically prohibited from disclosure by federal or State law or rules and regulations implementing federal or State law
Under 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(b):
- Social security numbers
- Driver's license numbers
- Biometric identifiers
- Personal financial information
- Passwords or other access codes
- Medical records
- Home or personal telephone numbers
- Personal e-mail addresses
- Home addresses
- Zip codes
- Personal license plates
Under 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(c):
- Dates of birth
- Race
- Graphic descriptions of offenses
- Victims' names and their identifying information*
- Other third-party names
- Specific medical information
*If the requester is the victim at issue, the victim's name can be left unredacted. However, WESCOM requires the requester to verify their identity prior to releasing unredacted records.
Under 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(d)(iv):
- Records to the extent disclosure would unavoidably disclose the identity of a confidential source, confidential information furnished only by the confidential source, or persons who file complaints with or provide information to administrative, investigative, law enforcement, or penal agencies
FOIA Request Fees
There is no fee required to submit a FOIA request; however, certain fees may apply in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 5 ILCS 140/6. By making a FOIA request, the requester shall be considered to have agreed to pay all applicable fees up to $25.00 unless a fee waiver has been granted. If WESCOM estimates that the total fees for processing a FOIA request will exceed $25.00, WESCOM will notify the requester in writing of the estimate and offer the requester an opportunity to narrow the request to reduce the fees.
