WESCOM does not just cover jurisdictions in Will County. In fact, we have areas of responsibility in Cook, DuPage, Kendall and Grundy counties as well.

WESCOM Fire agencies provide protection on I-55 from I-355/Mile Marker 269 to the Grundy County Line/Mile Marker 233 (with the exception of a small portion covered by Joliet). As a result, WESCOM receives the initial 911 calls for a majority of incidents that occur on I-55 in this 36 mile stretch. WESCOM Fire agencies also provide protection on I-355 and I-80.

WESCOM's coverage area also includes several smaller, local airports, damns, and nuclear facilities.

Our overall coverage area is approximately 452 square miles with a resident population of approximately 305,000.
